If you look in the page sources on this website, on pretty much every page (including this one!!), you'll find some comments in the code crediting a user named Awhe for the templates. But, if you try to visit her website, you'll find that the link doesn't lead anywhere... I noticed this a long time ago. Initially, the old neocities link would redirect to a new site hosted on GitHub, called neet-elie.net, but eventually, that link died too. There are snapshots on it on the Wayback Machine, with the latest suriving snapshot being from March 2024. By reading her manifesto page, I make the assumption that she simply got bored with having a website, and chose to take it offline. This isn't really a problem, per se, but from my perspective... |
I love crediting people! I love acknowledging the work others put in, so that my thing doesn't look fugly! But I can't do that if I can't link back to you anymore 〒▽〒
It took a long think for me to decide what to do about it, but I think I've come up with something that aligns with her spirit. Because all of the pages are simply modified templates from Awhe, and she encouraged people to copy, share and modify her work freely...
I encourage people to take the modified templates from this site, and use them for their own!
or, in other words: ♡ Copying is an act of love. Please copy.
